Ongoing Projects

Issues include: solid waste disposal, cleanup of toxics, preserve parklands, tidal and freshwater wetlands and flood plains, erosion control.
Achievements

In our 70 years of existence, we have a long list of achievements in protecting the environment and enriching the lives of Rockland County residents. 

RCCA works with public and private agencies to establish and maintain sound environmental policies and procedures. It is involved with local, state and federal issues, such as:
bullet Protection of environmentally sensitive areas
bullet Air and water quality
bullet Transportation impacts
bullet Reduction of pesticide use and adoption of integrated pest management practices
bullet Land use planning
bullet Cleanup of toxic sites
bullet Recycling
bullet Preservation of open space

The Association also acts as intervenor when deemed advisable. Public meetings are held regularly featuring outstanding experts on environmental issues. Your participation is needed and encouraged.
