Herbicide and Pesticide Lawn Signs

According to a report on "Home and Garden Pesticides" issued by the office of Elliot Spitzer, Attorney General of New York State, "All pesticides are Poisons and may cause adverse health effects... When the EPA registers a pesticide, it determines... how the pesticide must be used to minimize any risks and what information must be printed on the label." In addition, "Many pesticides used today were registered with the EPA before pesticide testing requirements were strengthened by Congress in 1978."

Attorney General Spitzer's report also states, " Pesticides can contaminate soil and water and many of them carry such warnings on their labels." It has become socially desirable and indeed almost a social necessity to have a uniform "weed" free lawn. This social moiré is destroying the environment and the health of our population. In an attempt to raise the awareness of the dangers of these products and to encourage society to recognize the poisoning of our citizens and the environment as socially unacceptable Rockland County Conservation Association is giving away attractive lawn signs which state:

THIS PROPERTY PLEDGED CHEMICAL FREE

Look for us at local fairs to obtain your lawn sign and tell your neighbors how you feel.
